Join us for another free event at the NGPL to welcome Lew-Ellyn Hughes, local business owner and author.

Lew-Ellyn Hughes is an award-winning newspaper columnist and author. Her column "Away with Words" is an eight-time winner of the Maine Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest.

She has been writing for over 25 years and has been published in several Maine magazines, including Downeast, Maine Women's Magazine, Maine Seniors Magazine, The Maine Highlands and Northwoods Sporting Journal.

Lew-Ellyn dreamt of leaving city life and finding a place where she can see her beloved Maine wilderness from her window. Her dreams finally came true when she turned a nineteenth century farmhouse in Stratton into the cozy, five-room bed-and-breakfast named Diamond Corner. This collection of heartwarming and humorous stories follows fifteen years of colorful guests, a lovable family, and a cast of hardy Mainers that truly make up the charm of a small town.
