Downeast Trout Unlimited invites members, supporters and the public community to join us for an evening filled with holiday cheer in collaboration with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth on Wednesday December 10. With activities scheduled from 5 to 8pm Reel in the Cheer offers something for everyone and will be a great way to celebrate the joy of the holiday season.

A potluck begins at 5pm, followed by a talk at 6pm with Maine Guide Carroll Ware. Ware holds 53 world fly-fishing records and in 2021 was the first fisherman inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame. In 2020 Carroll received the MDIFW Wiggie Robinson Legendary Maine Guide Award. He will share his world-wide adventures and sign books. There will be table with books and gear for sale, children's activities and two raffles that will be drawn at 7:30pm.

Our current raffle to benefit conservation projects and Trout Camp features three prizes: an antique 1935 Montague Sunbeam Bamboo fly rod-3 piece 8 1/2 “ in excellent condition, a $250 LL Bean Gift Certificate, or a 2 Box Set of flies tied by DETU members. Tickets are available in advance or on the night of our Holiday Gathering. We will also have a 50/50 raffle. Both raffles will be drawn at 7:30pm.

Downeast Trout Unlimited swag- hats, pins, and earrings, will also be available. Reel in the Cheer is a free family friendly event, but please RSVP to tpackie@gmail.com to help us plan. As a reminder there will be NO monthly DETU meetings in November or December.
