Spring and Summer Paint Evenings with Artist Claire Loon Baldwin at Wanderwood
Wanderwood, a farm and event venue in Nobleboro, is excited to welcome back illustrator Claire Loon Baldwin for another series of paint evenings this spring and summer. These delightful events combine art, relaxation, and community, offering participants the chance to learn a new skill while enjoying refreshments from the farm.
Each of Baldwin’s classes will focus on a unique subject, so repeat students have new learning opportunities. The series begins on Mother’s Day afternoon with a class dedicated to painting spring bouquets. Participants will work with stunning local flowers, painting directly from life, and can take their bouquet home to enjoy alongside their artwork.
Watercolor classes include:
Spring Bouquets – Sunday, May 11 (Mother’s Day!)
Lupine Flowers – Tuesday, June 3
Cherry Tomatoes – Tuesday, July 8
Local Organic Flowers – Tuesday, August 5 (featuring a bouquet from Wanderwood’s organic farm)
Autumn Leaves – Tuesday, September 9
Each evening runs from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is designed to be accessible for all experience levels. Whether you’re a beginner seeking stress-free, approachable guidance or an experienced artist looking to expand your skills, these classes provide opportunities to grow.
Classes will be held in the beautifully renovated barn, nestled within the surroundings of Wanderwood’s organic farm. All project materials are included, and students will learn the illustration techniques Claire uses for clients including DK Publishing, Down East Magazine, and the Boston Globe. “Our watercolor paint evenings are a fresh take on the classic ‘paint and sip’ night,” says Claire. “Participants leave feeling inspired, equipped with new techniques, and proud of their unique pieces of art.”
Past participants have shared glowing feedback about their experiences. “Wow, I’m actually going to keep this painting—and show it off,” said Danielle, a student in last year’s lupine class. “I’ve done paint-and-sip classes before and didn’t even bother bringing my art home. But this is beautiful! I can’t wait to frame it.”
Tickets for each class are $85. Classes with take-home flowers are $105. Guests who sign up for two or more classes can enjoy a 10% discount with the online code WATERCOLOR10. To learn more about Claire Loon Baldwin and secure your spot, visit www.wanderwoodmaine.com.
