Winterfest in Bath!

Winterfest in Bath!

Bath will come alive with activities and events that celebrate light and laughter in a season of
darkness. Main Street Bath has organized all the fun and we have a big day to share as a
community, where all are welcome.

We will have a Lantern Making Workshop at the Chocolate Church Arts Center, Kids Winter
Gauntlet and Free Family Disc Golf at the Library Park. At noon, the third annual Winter Disc
Golf Tournament happens, with much humor and loud music at Library Park. An Open House
and two dance performances at MAD Studio on the second floor of 172 Front Street. “Chess
with Friends” will be activated at the corner of Front and Elm Street. A Historic Bath Winter
Photo Hunt will be available for families exploring Bath, look for photos with QR codes as you
go along. The Bath Garden Club will have a table on Front Street along with Main Street Bath’s
INFO Table and Yeti Photo Booth. The Bath Trolley will be running for one day only during this
season, so you can get around easily! Downtown Shops will be buzzing with activity as we have
a One Day Bee Bath Buy Bath Promotion - a shopper receives a small card and stickers for
purchases at four different shopping / dining locations throughout the town. They submit their
finished card into one of two “Hives” and a drawing will occur at the end of the day for two
$50.00 Gift of Bath Certificates. This is local currency that is accepted at 60 businesses here in
Bath. The Portland Reavers Armored Combat team will be set up for a “Fight on the Kennebec”
at 2:00pm at Bridge Park (next to the Freight Shed on Commercial Street). The most anticipated
event of the day is our Third Annual Winterfest Community Lantern Parade. Everyone can join
in with a paper lantern, a headlamp, some source of light and walk through town together! Start
at 5:30pm at the parking lot of Five County Credit Union on Centre Street. When the Yeti arrives
we start the parade! The route will move up to City Hall, down to Elm Street, up to Washington
and end with a Finale at the Chocolate Church Arts Center. MSB and CCAC are co-sponsoring
this event and the new director of the CCAC, Matthew Glassman, will be mc-ing an inclusive
community march for lanterns and their creators to parade across the stage. The Casco Bay
Tummler Band will be playing as well. Both Feb. 23rd and 24th host multiple comedy shows with
hilarious and talented local, state and national level comedians coming into town. They require
either tickets or reservations. See www.visitbath.com/winterfest for more information and a full
list of events and activities.
