Community Calendar

Which Stitch? is a community group where participants bring their current fiber and needle projects to work and converse with each other. Participants are welcome to use ArtWaves' supply of materials to knit, crochet, sew, mend, embroider, weave, felt, cross stitch, and so much more! Beginning instruction can be provided and the occasional special guest will introduce new techniques and demo their work.

This ongoing group maintains an email list for people interested in receiving regular updates and information. If you would like to be included, please email office@artwavesmdi.org.

Which Stitch? is a drop-in group, no registration is required. It is free for ArtWaves Members and a $5 suggested donation for non-members

Every Monday from 3-5 pm in our Tasting Room retail shop, one of our knowledgeable tasting room team members will be offering complimentary tastes of two or three seasonal beers and beverages. No tickets are required, but let us know you're coming anyway for high fives! We hope you can join us!

Celebrating its 5th year, Sounds by the Sea began in 2021 to foster community and enjoyment of live music in our cherished park. This free, family-oriented six-week summer concert series occurs on Mondays at 6:00 pm, starting after Independence Day. Concerts rotate between the Bandstand and the Picnic Shelter, made possible by the generous support of local business sponsors.

Join the Lewiston Public Library for Baby Storytime in-person in the Children’s Department weekly on Tuesdays* from 10:15am to 11:15am.
*(The Library will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.)

Recommended for children ages 0 – 3 years old and their caregivers.

Enjoy an interactive storytime with your baby that includes early literacy fun with books, songs, rhymes and body movement. Play and social time immediately follow the program.

This program is free, open to the public, and no registration is required. Siblings are always welcome.

Please stay home if you or your child are sick and not feeling well.

The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street.

AVE NOX, is an open table old-school dungeon crawl played with Labyrinth Lord, a clone of 1st Edition Dungeons & Dragons.

Join the party and explore a #megadungeon inspired by games like Dark Souls, Dead Cells, and Blasphemous. Outwit monsters and ghosts, grab all the loot you can carry, and live to tell the tale!

These Community Salons are held at 6pm on the first & third Wednesdays of each month. They are free & open to all. Come with your thoughts, questions, concerns, & ideas. Network & connect with others who are working to promote equity & justice, creating resiliency within our communities. The Maine Irish Heritage Center is open to the public every Thursday from 10am-2pm! Stop in to take a tour of the building, do some research on our genealogy station, or peruse our library collection!

Join the Lewiston Public Library for Baby Sensory Playtime in the Children’s Department every Thursday* morning from 10am to 12pm, starting September 5th, 2024.
*(The Library will be closed on Thursday, 11/27 in observance of Thanksgiving & on Thursday, 12/25 in observance of Christmas)

Drop-in and join us for Baby Sensory Playtime! Babies and their caregivers will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of sensory toys and socialize with other families with young children.

Playtime with sensory toys contributes to a baby’s cognitive development, fine motor skills, social and emotional development, creativity, and language development.

Recommended for babies ages birth-18 months and their caregivers. Siblings are always welcome. This program is free, open to the public and no registration is required.
