Join the Lewiston Public Library for Baby Sensory Playtime in the Childrenβs Department every Thursday* morning from 10am to 12pm, starting September 5th, 2024.*(The Library will be closed on Thursday, 11/27 in observance of Thanksgiving & on Thursday, 12/25 in observance of Christmas)
Drop-in and join us for Baby Sensory Playtime! Babies and their caregivers will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of sensory toys and socialize with other families with young children.
Playtime with sensory toys contributes to a babyβs cognitive development, fine motor skills, social and emotional development, creativity, and language development.
Recommended for babies ages birth-18 months and their caregivers. Siblings are always welcome. This program is free, open to the public and no registration is required.
The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street and Lisbon St.

11/20: UMAβs very own Michelle Lisi is a feminist Jewish comic from New York who lives in a haunted old house in Midcoast Maine. Her material centers on the joys of middle-aged domesticity and the benefits of sarcasm. She has performed in comedy festivals in Maine, North Carolina, and Montreal and was the featured comic of the 2025 Maine Womenβs Lobby Hootenanny. Michelle was a semifinalist for New Englandβs 2024 Funniest Comic and is a regular on local lineups with the Portland Media Center, Gals and Pals, In Utero, and the Misfits. Please donβt tell anyone you know about this show. Sheβs kind of shy.

The Festival of Trees is a festive celebration - a partnership with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, the Alfond Youth & Community Center and presented by the Central Maine Betterment Collaborative.
The Festival of Trees is a cherished annual event that transforms the Waterville Elks Lodge into a winter wonderland, beautifully decorated with dazzling trees, each uniquely adorned with fantastic gifts curated by local businesses and organizations. We invite the community to revel in the holiday spirit while supporting community initiatives. Funds raised during the festival directly benefit our community experiencing food insecurity and provide meaningful workforce development opportunities.
