A carol service celebrating Christmas with live carols sung by the Dennysville Festival Choir and congregation illumination nine traditional lessons from the Old and New Testaments telling the story of Christmas.

The Winter Solstice Singers, featuring UU Society of Bangor's choir, Women With Wings, and guests, will present the Winter Solstice Journey Through Song, Sunday December 21 at 4:30 at UUSB, 120 Park St, Bangor. This will be the premiere of a program of songs written by Women With Wings' music director, Linda Smith Koehler. Songs and readings will bring us together, take us into the dark for introspection, then into the light for connection and celebration. Donations of non-perishable food and money will help feed our neighbors through UUSB's food programs.

Come try out water polo with Southern Maine Water Polo! We are a club that welcomes all newcomers. The only requirement for the sport is that you are an experienced swimmer. We will help to teach the fundamentals of the sport throughout practice. Expect a fantastic workout while playing this fun sport! Make sure to check out our website for any changes to our schedule. We do not practice on holiday weekends.

Celebrate the solstice with vibrant chamber music that connects new sounds, the environment, and the community.
Vigorous Tenderness is an immersive outdoor concert series that amplifies marginalized voices in classical music and democratizes new/experimental music. This winter solstice event resembles an art museum experience, with chamber music and fires illuminating the landscape as the audience follows a path of listening and reflection.
All are welcome; this is an inclusive, family friendly event.Please carpool; parking will be limited.Bundle up, wear boots, bring a headlamp or flashlight.
Please arrive between 5:30 and 6:15 pm and move through the installation at your own pace.
No advance tickets required.
The snow date for this event is Monday, December 22nd.
We value inclusion and access for all participants. This concert involves moving over mostly flat paved trails (though there may be snow/ice/mud) and visiting musical sites up to a quarter mile from the parking lot. Vigorous Tenderness concerts are held four times a year, on the Solstices and Equinoxes.
Scottish Country Dance is the ballroom dance of Scotland, done in longwise sets of several couples. We meet weekly to learn and enjoy the dances. All dances are taught. We recommend soft soled, flexible shoes. Bring a water bottle. There is a beginner/preview session at 5 p.m. by request. Note, we do not dance during the month of December.
Game night, every Sunday in Surry. We play new & old board games, card games, dice games, word games, tile games, team games... bring your favorites! Everyone welcome.
$2/person goes to the community center.
