Maine To Open 5 New 'Swab And Send' COVID-19 Testing Sites

The state is using federal funding to launch the sites, which offer free testing to individuals who believe they may have COVID-19 or have been exposed to the virus.

Five more swab and send COVID-19 testing sitesare opening next week in southern, western and Midcoast Maine.

The state is using federal funding to launch the sites, which offer free testing to individuals who believe they may have COVID-19 or have been exposed to the virus.

Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner Jeanne Lambrew says the five new locations will bring the total number of swab and send sites in the state to 27.

"Ensuring that approximately 90 percent of residents can get tested within 30 minutes of their home."

DHHS also announced that a mobile testing site will open next Tuesday at the Maine Visitor Information Center in Kittery.
