PORTLAND, Maine - Demonstrations are set to take place in two Maine cities in the wake of the Ferguson, Missouri, grand jury decision.
A grand jury decided on Monday not to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The decision sparked protests and rallies all over the country.
Organizers called for demonstrations on Tuesday night in Portland and Bangor. The Bangor demonstration was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. outside the city's police department. Portland's Monument Square was to be the site of a candlelight vigil at 9 p.m.
Dozens of other demonstrations are planned around New England and the country, and others have already taken place.
