Police say Maine Road Rage Case is 'Criminal Matter'

CASCO, Maine - Police say they are treating a road rage incident that caused a vehicle to crash into a Maine river as a "criminal matter.''

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says the crash occurred off of Route 302 on Monday afternoon near the border of Casco and Naples. Three occupants of the vehicle that went into the river were able to free themselves from the vehicle and swim to land. They later went to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and hypothermia.

Police say they are still investigating the incident and are not releasing the names of anyone involved. Charges have not been filed.

The road was closed at the scene of the crash after the incident. Police say the driver of the other vehicle was at the scene.
