Maine Governor: 'I'm Just Going to Move On'

AUGUSTA, Maine - Despite vowing not to do anymore media interviews, Gov. Paul LePage didn't miss his usual Tuesday appearance on WVOM Radio.

The governor said he wants to put the events of the last couple of weeks behind him. “I’m moving on and they need to do what they gotta do, and I’m - but I am out of it. I’m just going to move on.”

Meanwhile, Maine House Speaker Mark Eves is polling the chamber's members to see if they should come into a special session to consider sanctions against the governor for his profane voicemail to Rep. Drew Gattine.

But the governor appeared unconcerned, saying he has apologized to Gattine and to the people of Maine for his language.

The Senate is not polling its members, so even if House members vote for a special session, one cannot occur without Senate support.
