3-Day American Folk Festival Kicks Off In Bangor

BANGOR, Maine - The three-day National Folk Festival is about to get underway in Bangor. The event kicks off Friday evening with a New Orleans-style parade featuring Tuba Skinny, followed by Quebec folk music, salsa and samba bands, and bluegrass and honky tonk music.Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the event.

Bangor was the host of the 64th, 65th and 66th National Folk Festivals from 2002 to 2004.

The American Folk Festival is a continuation of the festival tradition. The event continues through Sunday on the Bangor riverfront.
