Maine's unemployment rate remained at 3.2% in August.
The state's jobless rate was unchanged from July and from August 2024, but slightly lower than at the beginning of the year. It was also lower than the national and New England averages, which were both over 4%.
The Maine Department of Labor says the state did record a drop of 400 jobs in the last year. It says half of that decline was in the construction sector and occurred in the last six months.
