Art Break with Bridget R. Cooks at the Museum

Art Break with Bridget R. Cooks at the Museum

Join us on the first and third Thursday of each month during the academic semesters to spend time with a work of art on view in the Colby College Museum of Art’s galleries. This week, Bridget R. Cooks, scholar and curator of American art, will facilitate a conversation in the new exhibition, Is anything the matter? Drawings by Laylah Ali.

Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. Bridget R. Cooks serves as Chancellor’s Fellow and Professor of African American Studies and Art History at the University of California, Irvine.
