Cosmogenesis: The Story of Us (True North Theatre)

Cosmogenesis: The Story of Us (True North Theatre)

True North Theatre is proud to announce a very special fall 2025 presentation: the world premiere of COSMOGENESIS: THE STORY OF US by Rebecca-Sophia Strong and directed by Angela Bonacasa. This fulldome, immersive multi-media event will be presented at the Versant Power Astronomy Center and Maynard Jordan Planetarium in November.

Lotus, a Chinese-born college student, embarks on a journey of self-discovery as she grows more and more curious about who her biological mother was and wants to embrace her own culture more. Along the way, she is joined by a new group of friends – students and instructors – who encourage her to unravel the mysteries of her life against the backdrop of astronomy and the universe around her.

This world-premiere event runs November 7th - November 15th, with performances Fridays at 7:00pm and Saturdays at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. [Please note there will be no Sunday performances for this production.] Performances will be held at the Versant Power Astronomy Center and Maynard Jordan Planetarium, 167 Rangely Road, on the University of Maine Campus in Orono.
