IN UTERO: A Radical Feminist Comedy Show

IN UTERO: A Radical Feminist Comedy Show

Have you ever asked yourself what if there was a comedy show that had enough estrogen to drown you in? Look no further!
Why have a radical feminist comedy show?

Comedy has historically been claimed by the underdogs, a way to right wrongs, a spoonful of medicine helps the sugar go down… and have you been to a regular comedy show?
You know, the one with mostly guys and one lady on if you are lucky? This comedy show is reverse that. It’s all ladies and they’re all indubitably very funny. And they all live in Maine! And it’s a little punk rock, a little progressive, passionately woke.

Ideas are powerful, they can topple governments, and they can also make people laugh their booties off. So let’s make magic feminist comedy 24/7 this 7/11 at Blue Portland Maine!

Most of the proceeds for the show are being donated to BPM as a thank you for making space available for unique voices in our local Portland scene. Come support a venue that supports inclusivity and niche genres!

Headlining is Lynda Marie España!

Lynda España survived growing up on the mean streets of Southport Island, ME, being taller than all the boys in high school, and getting divorced—so naturally, she turned to stand-up comedy. She honed her chops in San Francisco, becoming a finalist in the Battle of the Bay Comedy Competition, has opened for Margaret Cho, and now finds the funny in life’s weirdest, worst, and most WTF moments.
Now calling Rockland home, Lynda regularly performs all along the Midcoast, bringing laughter to the lobster-loving masses. When she’s not on stage, she’s obsessing over true crime (she’s basically a detective), wrangling middle schoolers in her after-school comedy program, or being bossed around by her corgi. She still doesn’t understand Instagram or TikTok, but here she is: @Spain_in_Maine

Featuring is Sarah Mather !

Sarah Mather is an up and coming comedian who has performed across New England. Sarah’s first attempt at stand up was in 2010, when she was awarded a large penis piñata for winning a comedy smut slam. Not wanting to tarnish her reputation, she took a long break before getting back into things over the last year. When she told her therapist she was going to be trying stand up again he told her “I just don’t see you that way” so now she performs out of spite.

Sarah primarily jokes about her failed attempts at dating, living in Russia and China, disabilities, and working in the field of special education.
