Maine Public is very excited to be participating in a screening of the upcoming NOVA production, Sea Change: Gulf of Maine. This three-part series looks at the history of the Gulf of Maine, its current state, and its future.
Sea Change blends science, exploration, stunning natural history and stories of human experience past and future, providing a fascinating tale about a regional location with profound global implications. Scientists, Native Americans, fishers, and entrepreneurs are all working to reveal its complex history, in understanding what role the ocean plays in our lives, that ocean health equals human health.
With the Gulf warming faster than 99 percent of the global ocean, wildlife and people are adapting to rapid change. What happens here, for the animals in the water, for the jobs dependent upon it and for the millions of people along its shores, is likely to happen worldwide.
After the screening, there will be a panel discussion with filmmakers and content experts.

Hello Neighbor!
Maine Public and Seashore Trolley Museum are excited to welcome Daniel Tiger, from the PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, back for a visit at Seashore on Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th!
Hop on a trolley shuttle to Highwood Carhouse to meet Daniel and Seashore’s very own Biddeford & Saco trolley No. 31 to visit and take photos with Daniel and this special trolley car. Enjoy other activities around the Museum campus, including Maine Public’s fun activity tent! Guests can also visit regular Museum exhibits and displays, as well as ride trolleys on a private 3.5-mile round trip heritage railroad!

Maine Public is pleased to be a media sponsor of Opera Maine’s production of Aida. Aida is Verdi’s tragic opera set in Ancient Egypt during the reign of the pharaohs - a story of love and betrayal told through Verdi’s powerful music.
Aida will be performed by world-class singers and the Opera Maine Orchestra and Chorus at Merrill Auditorium on July 25th and 28th .

Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis had a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander.
With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards, including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean,” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages.

Legally Blonde opens Friday, June 21st at 7:00 pm and is running most Thursdays to Sundays through Sunday, August 11th. Dates and times are subject to change.

Tokyo meets Maine meets Cowboy meets Bach.
Ryu & Tom are a cross-genre duo featuring Ryu from Tokyo and Tom from Bangor Maine.
They are both classically trained but couldn’t keep themselves from mixing the genres that they love.
Their repertoire runs the gamut. From old Japanese folk songs to western cowboy songs. From 17th century classical music to anime songs. From rock music to Celtic tunes. You name it, they will play and Ryu will dance with her fiddle while Tom holds the fort.

The Augusta Colonial Theater is proud to present our 2nd annual Silent Movie Fest. Due to ongoing construction at the Colonial, this year's event will be held at Johnson Hall in Gardiner, Maine, in the downstairs Logan Stage area.
This year we're showing three silent films boasting live music by noted silent film accompanist Jeff Rapsis. The films have all been meticulously restored by the event's host, Ed Lorusso of Belgrade, Maine. Ed curated this selection to feature silent films shot in Maine. With a single ticket you will be able to enjoy all three films.

Audiences will be enthralled by Verdi’s gorgeous music as epic love transcends ancient borders. Under the direction of Dona D. Vaughn and performed by world-class singers and the Opera Maine Orchestra and Chorus, all under the baton of Maestro Israel Gursky. This is a rare opportunity for opera lovers and first-timers to hear this masterpiece!
Opera in four acts, sung in Italian with English translation projected above the stage. One intermission.
There will be a pre-curtain presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Merrill on July 25 and 1:30 p.m. on July 28 with Opera Maine dramaturg, Calien Lewis. Free entry with your ticket.

Sigrid Sibley is an emerging singer-songwriter in New England and a native of Poland Spring. She began songwriting at age 14. Her music draws on common folk themes, as well as her love for nature, agriculture and simple living. Her musical roots are in bluegrass, folk and traditional American music, and she has continues to explore acoustic genres.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Poland Spring Inn.

Ross Gallagher, a bassist who grew up in East Blue Hill, is celebrating the release of his latest record, 'neon night', an excursion into an ambient/electronic musical world built around rhythmic bass ostinatos, clouds of processed looping electronic atmospheres, and melody. Ross will be joined by longtime collaborators Peter Herman, guitar and RJ Miller, drums. Doors open 5:30 p.m., bread and drinks for purchase; music at 7 in the barn. Children 13 and under get in free.
