Join the Lewiston Public Library for Baby Storytime in-person in the Children’s Department weekly on Tuesdays* from 10:15am to 11:15am.
*(The Library will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.)

Recommended for children ages 0 – 3 years old and their caregivers.

Enjoy an interactive storytime with your baby that includes early literacy fun with books, songs, rhymes and body movement. Play and social time immediately follow the program.

This program is free, open to the public, and no registration is required. Siblings are always welcome.

Please stay home if you or your child are sick and not feeling well.

The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street.

Join us for Bumps & Babies on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday every month starting June 4th from 10:30am to 11:30am in the Children’s Department.

Bumps & Babies is a support group that provides a safe, compassionate space for individuals navigating the emotional and physical challenges of pregnancy and the postpartum period. Members can share experiences, receive encouragement, and connect with others facing similar struggles, such as anxiety, depression, or the joys and adjustment to parenthood.

The group is often facilitated by a trained professional and may include resources on mental health, self-care, and infant care. It’s a place to feel seen, supported, and less alone during a deeply transformative time.

The Bumps & Babies program is in partnership with Community Concepts, WIC Maine, Western Maine Community Action, Maine Families and Public health Nursing.

Free. No registration required. Siblings are welcome.

The Lewiston Public Library, in partnership with ArtVan, will be offering in-person art programs.

Starting on September 10th, the programs will take place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 3:30pm-5:00pm in the Children’s Department for children ages 5-14.

Make Art with ArtVan is free, open to the public, and no registration is required. All art supplies will be provided.

Program takes place on the 3rd floor of the Lewiston Public Library, in the Children’s Department. Children aged 5-8 must be accompanied by an adult.

ArtVan is a mobile art program that brings hands-on creative art opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and fun. All of their projects aim to inspire art-making with a variety of materials to explore. ArtVan programs engage all age groups, encourage time outside and reduce screen time, help youth stay connected, diminish stress, and provide release for unvented expressions of emotions, such as loss and confusion.

ArtVan began in 2004 and has provided therapeutic art and strengths-based programs to under-resourced neighborhoods.

Add a little spice to your game! A fun event for the whole family. Bring your favorite game to share with others, or use one of the many games, or decks of cards we have in the Lounge. A night for gamers to gather and mingle while spending some quality time with our adoptable kitties.

During this event, prospective students and their families will learn more about Lincoln Academy and take a brief look at our academic and extracurricular programs. We will also review the enrollment process. Following the presentation, current students will offer tours, and families will have the chance to meet academic department representatives in the Alumni Dining Commons. Witness the exciting changes fall brings and build your ecological literacy with Fields Pond Audubon Center’s Homeschool Naturalists program! Designed for children ages 6-14, this engaging series will start as a whole mixed age group, then break into age based investigation teams to dive deeper into that week’s theme!

Together, we’ll:

Study the magic behind fall leaves,
Explore fall seed dispersal and native plant life cycles
Study the role of naturalists in identifying trends and patterns in our natural world.
Learn how the local habitat prepares for the coming winter

Each session combines outdoor exploration, guided hiking, and nature journaling to deepen your connection with the natural world.

Join the Lewiston Public Library for Baby Sensory Playtime in the Children’s Department every Thursday* morning from 10am to 12pm, starting September 5th, 2024.
*(The Library will be closed on Thursday, 11/27 in observance of Thanksgiving & on Thursday, 12/25 in observance of Christmas)

Drop-in and join us for Baby Sensory Playtime! Babies and their caregivers will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of sensory toys and socialize with other families with young children.

Playtime with sensory toys contributes to a baby’s cognitive development, fine motor skills, social and emotional development, creativity, and language development.

Recommended for babies ages birth-18 months and their caregivers. Siblings are always welcome. This program is free, open to the public and no registration is required.
