The Shapleigh Garden Tour offers creative, dramatic, unique, and never before seen garden designs. Expect to be amazed and inspired.

Yarmouth Arts Alliance presents the watercolors of the late artist Harry Beskind. The show will take place in the lower lobby at 317 Main, Yarmouth. There will be an opening reception and celebration on June 14, from 4:00-6:00.

Belly in the Park (Belly Dancing) is an event that was created in the summer of 2021. This event is by donation only and all the proceeds go to the SPCA of Hancock County in loving memory of my daughter McKenna Lee Unobskey who was killed in a pedestrian accident in Bar Harbor in 2020. Last year we raised $350 in her memory. The event is designed for everyone, great music, easy steps, we use wings and veils and all are welcome. Nothing needed to participate. I have been Belly Dancing and teaching for over 20 years. This event is held once a month from May to August. Dates are July 12th, August 9th.

In this engaging session, we’ll explore how seasonal foods offer peak nutrition, support our digestion and energy, and connect us more deeply to the rhythms of the earth. You’ll learn how local, in-season produce can enhance your health, support your community, and even taste better — all while reducing your environmental impact. Leave with practical tips, a deeper appreciation for nature’s cycles, a renewed connection to what’s growing around you right now, and new ideas for making the most of your LRF CSA bounty.

Join instructor Heather Guglielmo for a morning of yoga among the flowers at Broadturn Farm.
Heather is from NY & NH and fell in love with Maine and stayed. She started her yoga practice about nine years ago, and holds her RYT 200 Yoga Teacher Training with the Fluid Yoga School through Samudra in Biddeford, ME. Her infectious laughter, kind heart, love for Thriller Flash Mob, 80’s music, her two dogs and Ireland will keep you coming back for more. She loves to teach outside and looks forward to teaching with SLT again this Summer!

Attendees should bring their own yoga mat or towel, water, weather-appropriate clothing, and insect repellent. We will plan to be outside unless weather moves us into the barn.

All ages and levels of experience are welcome.

Pottery with Kitties
A chance to try some pottery while be entertained by a room full of kitties! This workshop will be hosted by Daisy Hutt, she is a Portland artist that manages a pottery studio is Gorham, and teaches wheel throwing and hand building classes to all ages.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of working with clay and hand build your own functional (hopefully cat themed!) piece of pottery that will be fired and glazed. All skill levels are welcome, prepare to get muddy!

Cruise with us to Spencer Bay, site of the nation’s last log drive in 1975. Listen to stories from Rocky Rockwell and other special guests as they relate what it was like to work aboard the Katahdin in the heyday of the logging industry. This cruise will be filled with nostalgia and special surprises!

Stop in Richard Boyd Art Gallery in July and relax while viewing a presentation of beautifully detailed paintings that made me pause to take in their beauty, intricate details or contemplate the underlying meaning they convey. Immerse yourself in a world of textures, colors, and details as you explore a range of contrasting styles from impressionism to realism, featuring a magnificent selection of original visual art created by artists from diverse backgrounds. The artists’ individual styles, choice of mediums and color palettes give them distinction in the visual arts community.

The exhibit is comprised of a stunning selection of paintings, each created with heartfelt emotions from the soul of the artist drawing viewers into a moment in time when an event, scene, or color inspired them to create. Whatever the inspiration, these paintings will remain relevant through the years.

The exhibit showcases works by highly regarded, award-winning artists among them Jane Herbert a distinguished fine and commercial artist known for her calming, beautifully detailed acrylic paintings; Deena S. Ball a nationally renowned art educator and instructor known for her use of watercolor on unconventional surfaces; Patricia Chandler a distinguished fine and commercial artist, art instructor, illustrator, and retired art educator well known for her knowledge and ability to create original art across all genres; Carrin Culotta recognized for her traditional style plein air and in studio oil paintings; Tim Eaton a nationally recognized commercial and fine artist known for his landscape paintings; and HM Saffer II an internationally renowned, award-winning performing and visual artist famed for his magnificently layered pointillist style landscape paintings.
