Sebago Lake State Park Fire Appears Accidental

SEBAGO, Maine - Investigators say the fire that destroyed a state park service regional headquarters at Sebago Lake State Park appears to have been accidental.

The Portland Press Herald reports the fire started in the area of some 20-year-old heat tape used to prevent pipes from freezing. Sgt. Joel Davis says the cause of the fire is undetermined because of the damage. He says the fire's origin "doesn't look out of the ordinary.''

Several fire departments responded to the Wednesday blaze. There were no injuries. Four or five employees use the building during the winter months.
