BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) _ Maine police say they have charged a Brunswick couple with heroin trafficking after a search of their apartment turned up a large quantity of drugs and cash.
Police say Justin Coffin and Tara Dry-Crooker -both 35 -were arrested Friday without incident and are in custody at the Two Bridges Regional Jail.
State police spokesman Steve McCausland says drug agents from the Mid-Coast District Task Force searched the couple's Oak Street apartment Friday and found 800 bags of heroin and $5,000 in cash. Police say the street value of the heroin is about $16,000.
Drug agents say a month-long investigation showed the couple frequently traveled out of state to purchase heroin, then sold it in Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties.
It was not immediately known if they have lawyers.
