Lewiston Man Says His Brother Was Killed In Blast In Somalia

LEWISTON, Maine - A Maine man says his brother was one of the more than 300 people killed in a bomb blast in Mogadishu, Somalia.
 
Twenty-seven-year-old Iman Osman, of Lewiston, says the explosion was so powerful that debris killed his brother even though he was 1,000 feet (304 meters) away when the truck bomb detonated.
 
He told the Sun Journal that his brother had fled to Kenya, but last year returned to Somalia hoping things would get better after a new government came to power.
 
Osman, who fled Somalia when he was 3, says his brother was a husband and father of eight, with a ninth child on the way. He worked as a first responder driving an ambulance.
