Maine Wildlife Park Free on Saturday for Solstice

GRAY, Maine — Local farmers and food vendors will help open the Maine Wildlife Park to the public for free to celebrate the summer season.

The Summer Solstice Farmers Market event is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray. Visitors will also be welcome to walk the park grounds and gardens during the event.

There will also be a memorial service and dedication of a sugar maple tree in honor of former park Superintendent David Wilbur. The ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. in front of the farmhouse that Wilbur and his family lived in for 35 years. The farmhouse is now a park office building.

The wildlife park is located at 56 Game Farm Road in Gray and normally costs $7 for adults.
