PERU, Maine — A man from the town of Peru charged with killing his mother-in-law is headed to court.
Authorities say 33-year-old Paul Orchard faces a murder charge at a court appearance scheduled for Tuesday in connection with the weekend death of Paula Nuttall.
The 57-year-old Nuttall was found dead Saturday morning in the kitchen of the home she shared with several other family members, including Orchard.
Authorities have not said how Nuttall died.
Orchard was arrested Sunday night after he was discharged from the hospital. Police haven't said why he was hospitalized.
Orchard has been held in jail since his arrest and it's unclear if he has a lawyer.
