NPR's John Burnett has a report on a remarkable immigrant community - the Mayans in Houston. Many of Houston's Mayans came to the US in the late 1970's as illegal immigrants from the same village in Guatemala. Now, many are legal, have good jobs and own homes and cars. But despite their successes, there are still tensions. Later arrivals have not been as successful as those who came earlier and the community is struggling with how to retain the Mayan culture amid the overwhelming American one.
