HARPSWELL, Maine — A long-standing Harpswell, Maine seafood restaurant is on the market for $1.79 million.
The Portland Press Herald reports Cook's Lobster House promises to open in the spring for its 60th year despite being for sale. The planned sale includes a 5,320-square-foot, one-story building on 1.37 acres. The restaurant is beloved among Maine residents and tourists for its views of Merriconeag Sound and Garrison Cove. It has had two owners since 1955, with current owner Curt Parent starting at the restaurant as a dishwasher in the 1970s. He bought the restaurant years later.
The restaurant closed for the season on Sunday.
