Kennebunk’s 24th Annual Martin Luther King Day celebration, Living Your Purpose, features Dr. Lowell “Chris” Matthews who lives, teaches, and volunteers in New Hampshire. “I will share my personal story of growing up in Tennessee, coming of age at the University of Delaware, defining my purpose, and now, living and working in New Hampshire,” Matthews says. “As we reflect on Martin Luther King’s life, we can find ways to embrace our own purpose—whether through activism, compassion, or simply making a positive impact in our daily lives.” Jazz pianist Kevin Preval will open the program, reception to follow. The program will benefit a Black History Month event for school children in Portland.
