OLD TOWN, MAINE, MAY 9, 2023 – DeWitt Field is hosting its’ annual Wings and Wheels Car Show
Fly-in Saturday June 10th. Antique cars, warbird airplanes, and even helicopters are expected to take over the DeWitt Airfield Old Town Municipal Airport runways. All proceeds from the event go toward 501-c3 charity SUDS (“Servicemembers Undertaking Disabled Sports”), Toys For Tots in addition to the Maine Veteran's Project, supporting veterans throughout the state.
Festivities begin at 8am with warbirds, vintage, and float airplanes, followed by a car show. Prizes up to $500 are awarded at 3PM for several categories including People’s Choice and Best of Show. Food and Beverage vendors will be on site along with booths selling aviation memorabilia, raffles, a corn hole tournament and more.
"Last year we saw over 200 cars compete in our auto show, and a lot of amazing aircraft. The highlight of the event is the fact everyone came together for a good cause, to benefit our local veterans and children in need. Net proceeds are utilized for heating fuel, veteran home improvement, recreation, and to help children less fortunate through reputable charitable programs" Lance Farrar DeWitt Airfield Manager, said.
Music will begin around 3pm with local favorites and Live music with New Orleans Blues and Top 10 Billboard-charting guitarist Eric Johanson will be kicking off the evening fundraising concert at 6pm. Headliner and Grammy nominated blues artist Johnny Sansone will be the highlight of the evening. Concert tickets are available online through Eventbrite or at the gate for $20. Guests may bring their own lawn chairs; however no outside food or beverage will be allowed. VFW Beer sales will be available to those 21 years of age and older with a valid identification.

Old Town City Manager Bill Mayo supports the event “because our town and our community know the sacrifice made every day by our military soldiers, some of whom have paid an untold price. Old Town and DeWitt Field are pleased to bring together food, fun and festivities all for a good cause”.
