AMC's Fly Fishing Festival

AMC's Fly Fishing Festival
Fly Fishing Festival at Little Lyford Lodge, May 30th-June 1st
Discover the joy of fly fishing in Maine’s breathtaking 100-Mile Wilderness during Maine’s Free Fishing Weekend- an opportunity to cast your line without a license and experience the pristine waters of this remarkable region. This experience is made possible by the Appalachian Mountain Club’s groundbreaking conservation work. Through the Maine Woods Initiative, AMC has completed 56 fish passage projects, replaced 32 bridges, and reconnected over 62 miles of stream habitat, revitalizing one of the nation’s most significant native brook trout and salmon habitats. The centerpiece of this habitat, the West Branch of the Pleasant River watershed, has been described as an "ecological treasure trove.” These waters, now teeming with life, offer anglers of all skill levels a unique opportunity to connect with nature and each other.
Stay in our cozy cabins, unwind in saunas, savor homemade meals, and enjoy free access to kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Professional fishing guides will lead engaging clinics, hands-on workshops, and memorable guided excursions throughout the event.
This festival is more than just an adventure, it’s a celebration of conservation, community, and the boundless wonders of the great outdoors.
