Blueberries, Broadway, and Brian

Blueberries, Broadway, and Brian

Please join us for Blueberries, Broadway, and Brian, a one-man show featuring Brian Allen of Good Theater, on Friday, April 19th at 2 p.m. at Lunt Auditorium (74 Lunt Road, Falmouth, ME 04105).

“Blueberries, Broadway, and Brian speaks to Allen’s wit, turn of phrase, and deliciously outrageous sense of humor. The monologue recounts Allen’s autobiographical journey from scion of a Maine blueberry dynasty (Allen’s Blueberries is one of the world’s largest producers of wild blueberries) to a familiar fixture on the New York and regional theatre scene. Told with a self-deprecating humor and just the right blend of provocative and boyish charm, Allen narrates his family history, his flying in the face of parental expectations by choosing a life in the theatre, and countless stories of the colorful characters he has met along the way.” – BroadwayWorld.com

Brian P. Allen is the co-founder and Executive & Artistic Director of Good Theater, a non-profit theater company based in Portland. Some of his favorite productions include: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, August Osage County, Act One, An Inspector Calls, Clybourne Park, Light up the Sky, and A Man of No Importance to name a few. He is a Maine native who has worked in professional theater for over 40 years starting with Maine State Music Theatre in 1982. For seven years, he worked with the Portland Symphony Orchestra directing Magic of Christmas and creating Pops concerts. He has also directed at The Theater at Monmouth, The Theater Project, Biddeford City Theater, and Portland Players.
