Sponsored by the Southern Maine Sea Kayak Network, the "Stone Soup" Kayak Gathering is a dry-land event (NO on-water events, training, or boat demos) that serves as a casual, comfortable social gathering and information sharing event. SMSKN members will share various boats, gear, and skills needed for ocean kayaking the coast of Maine.

This is a free, open-to-the public event. It is run solely by volunteer SMSKN members who each contribute a little from their kayaking world to create a fun community event to increase awareness of the ocean kayaking sport in general. And, awareness of on-water safety.

So, grab a coffee and come join us on the Payson Park triangle over-looking the Back Bay.

There is no "rain date" ... if the weather is truly catastrophic (which it can be in June), the event will not be held and no back-up date is planned. That being said, light rain or drizzle will not shut it down.
