Something Wicked (Ambitious) This Way Comes!Fenix Theatre attempts to stage Macbeth in only one day
No one knows what will actually happen when the show starts, and that's the real magic.
At 9:00 AM on Sunday, November 2nd, 19 actors will gather at The Hill Arts to do something exhausting, ambitious, and very possibly stupid. They will arrive with only their lines memorized. They will not have the luxury of weeks of rehearsal. They will not have the “bells and whistles” of scenery or meticulously designed props and costumes. They will not have a comfort zone.
Instead, these actors will rely on their dramatic instincts, weeks of solo preparation, the brilliance of a Shakespeare play, and the adrenaline that pumps through their veins on the knowledge that the audience will file in to see the show at 7:00 PM on the same day.
Mainers tend to take care of their own business, much to the chagrin of Gerard, the only cop on the island. When he finds evidence of foul play surrounding a recent death, things go hilariously amok and Gerard finds there's something sinister hiding behind the cozy vacation town he grew up in. Join us for this side-splitting comedy about murder and mayhem in Maine!

“A New Home” is an original musical that tells the rich and complex history of Lewiston. Written and composed by Lewiston native Paul G. Caron and presented in 1995 for the Lewiston Bicentennial, this production brings to life the stories of Lewiston’s Indigenous, Irish, Franco-American, and African immigrant communities, whose contributions have shaped the city’s identity and culture. The sold-out performances of “Lewiston: A New Home” received wide acclaim for the show's musical score and the heartwarming authenticity of its stories. An original cast album was released in December 1995, and the show was performed again to sold-out audiences in 1996. In the thirty years since the original production, major events – both good and tragic - have occurred in Lewiston and are now represented in the musical’s revival to enhance its relevance and historical significance.
“A New Home” will run October 30-November 9, and all performances will be held at the Lewiston Middle School Auditorium.
