REALLY is a play about mourning, intimacy, and the conflict between goodness and greatness as seen through the lens of photography.
“A New Home” is an original musical that tells the rich and complex history of Lewiston. Written and composed by Lewiston native Paul G. Caron and presented in 1995 for the Lewiston Bicentennial, this production brings to life the stories of Lewiston’s Indigenous, Irish, Franco-American, and African immigrant communities, whose contributions have shaped the city’s identity and culture. The sold-out performances of “Lewiston: A New Home” received wide acclaim for the show's musical score and the heartwarming authenticity of its stories. An original cast album was released in December 1995, and the show was performed again to sold-out audiences in 1996. In the thirty years since the original production, major events – both good and tragic - have occurred in Lewiston and are now represented in the musical’s revival to enhance its relevance and historical significance.
“A New Home” will run October 30-November 9, and all performances will be held at the Lewiston Middle School Auditorium.

Having the opportunity to care for prized heirlooms and family letters is a great joy but also a big responsibility. Whether you’re preserving your own family history or that of your community, how do you make sure you save it for the next generation? This class will briefly recap how to handle those heirlooms and where to display them in your house or historic building, as discussed in classes A2 and A3 of this series (not a prerequisite). It will then delve into cleaning techniques, proper storage or display of materials, and when to call the conservator rather than repair any damage yourself. Practice makes perfect, so bring an item that fits into a shoe box to try out the techniques we learn in class.
Join us in the Children's Room for music, movement, stories, and more, for children and their caregivers. Families welcome!
Join us at Libby Library in OOB for a new recurring program that will let your crafty side loose! Starting this October, we’ll be hosting Crafternoons on the first and third Friday at from 1:00 – 3:00 pm! This program is designed for adult crafters.
On the first Friday of the month, we’ll be doing a guided craft with instruction to make projects and learn techniques like decoupage and scrapbooking. On the third Friday of the month, there will be no guided project. It will be time to work on your own crafty projects (bring your supplies!) in the company of other crafters!
We will also be establishing a craft swap shelf with this program, so if you’ve got leftover supplies from crafts that no longer hold your interest, you are more than welcome to bring them with you to the library for other crafters to try out!
This program is free, open to the public, and no registration is required.
