Growing Routes is a small, overnight summer camp in Midcoast Maine for girls ages 8β15 β a place where kids slow down, feel at home, and spend their days swimming in the lake, making art, cooking together, digging in the garden, exploring outdoors, playing games, learning new skills, and following their curiosity.
Our sessions are intentionally small (8β20 campers), creating space for a relaxed pace and a family-like atmosphere. With a flexible, child-driven schedule, kids have room to truly be themselves β and carry that confidence home.
Many parents come to us wondering:Is camp right for my child? Is this worth the investment? Will they feel safe, seen, and supported?
We love those questions β and weβre always happy to talk them through. We believe choosing camp should feel thoughtful, not rushed.
β¨ 2026 Sessions (Ages 8β15): β¨- June 21 β July 2 (Ages 11β13)- July 5 β 17 (Ages 10β12)- July 26 β August 1 (Ages 8β10)- August 2 β 14 (Ages 13β15)
π Full and partial scholarships available.

Every summer (June-August) we host a weekly group paddle for sea kayakers from June through August. These one-hour sessions are a chance for local paddlers to get on the water together in the early morning when seas on Casco Bay are more likely to be calm.
These paddles are led by our staff, who are happy to share their knowledge, but these are not guided trips and you should not join if you need instruction or assistance in order to participate. Please consider taking one of our lessons or joining a tour if you are new to sea kayaking.
