Join the Lewiston Public Library for Baby Sensory Playtime in the Children’s Department every Thursday* morning from 10am to 12pm, starting September 5th, 2024.*(The Library will be closed on Thursday, 11/27 in observance of Thanksgiving & on Thursday, 12/25 in observance of Christmas)
Drop-in and join us for Baby Sensory Playtime! Babies and their caregivers will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of sensory toys and socialize with other families with young children.
Playtime with sensory toys contributes to a baby’s cognitive development, fine motor skills, social and emotional development, creativity, and language development.
Recommended for babies ages birth-18 months and their caregivers. Siblings are always welcome. This program is free, open to the public and no registration is required.
The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street and Lisbon St.

Witness the exciting changes fall brings and build your ecological literacy with Fields Pond Audubon Center’s Homeschool Naturalists program! Designed for children ages 6-14, this engaging series will start as a whole mixed age group, then break into age based investigation teams to dive deeper into that week’s theme!

Looking to spend more time on your creative hobby this fall? We’ve got just the thing: Artists Studio: Drawing & Painting! Join us at Libby Library for this 8-week series held every Thursday from September 25th through November 13th from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm in our Community Room!
This is not an art class, but rather a time for you to come work on your own drawing & painting artwork in the company of other creatives! All skill levels are welcome to attend. You must bring your own supplies, none will be provided. This program series is presented in partnership with Saco Bay Artists.

The Victorian age witnessed a resurgence in Gothic fiction, which was peppered with supernatural and inexplicable events. To experience a true Victorian evening join this storytelling event performed by British actor, Andrew Harris, as Charles Dickens, reading three tales of mystery, intrigue and suspense.
Doors will open at 5:30pm and the performance will begin at 6pm. No late arrivals will be admitted.
This event will be held in the atmospheric, Emmanuel Chapel in the Cathedral Church of St. Luke’s. Paid parking is available in the lot nearby (a mobile device is needed to pay) or for free on the street after 5pm.
Tickets are $40 for members, $45 for nonmembers.

Come audition for GSSME's 2026 production of Princess Ida!
Auditions will be held on October 30th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (final arrival time 7:30PM) and November 1st from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (final arrival time 12:30PM). Please come prepared with a piece of classical music or a song from a musical and sheet music for our accompanist. There is no audition necessary to participate in the chorus! Auditions will be held in the theater at the Moore Center in Ellsworth.
There will also be an opportunity to audition for our Lee Patterson Scholarship, which awards $500 towards classical voice training to two people ages 14 or older.
Rehearsals will begin on January 2nd. Performances will take place in early March.
