What does long-term resilience look like for Mount Desert Island's food and social systems? How far does a community extend? How are we thinking of resilience broadly? What would collaboration with other islands entail? The event offers a space for exploring these questions and collectively envisioning the long-term resilience of MDI with metaphors from natural systems like lichens and mycelium facilitating our conversation. This interactive gathering will foster discussions and idea generation aimed at fostering collaborative long-term resilience in MDI. We'll explore strategies for enhancing resilience in our food and social systems, and envision collaborations within MDI and beyond its borders.

He will be introducing us to Micrometeorites, shedding light on their origins, composition, and significance in scientific research. Learn how these minuscule cosmic particles, smaller than a grain of sand, traverse vast distances through the vacuum of space before reaching Earth's atmosphere.
Furthermore, we'll explore the methods used by scientists to identify and collect micrometeorites, highlighting the challenges and breakthroughs in this field of study. See examples of many of the micrometeorites Jon has found right here in Brunswick, and learn how you can begin the hunt as well. There will be time for questions after the presentation.
