WALDOBORO, Maine - A lieutenant with the Cumberland County Jail has been placed on administrative leave after he was charged with felony theft.
The Portland Press Herald reports that Waldoboro police arrested 36-year-old Scott Jordan, of Standish last week, on Friday, charging him with theft by unauthorized taking for allegedly stealing a gun and other items from his father.
Chief William Labombarde says the alleged thefts occurred from May to August.
Theft of less than $10,000 is typically a misdemeanor, but Jordan is charged with stealing a gun, which elevates the theft to a felony. He is free on $5,000 bail. He could not be reached for comment.
