Police in Portland are investigating what appears to be a racially motivated attack.
The department says the victim is a 38-year-old Asian woman who reported that she was sitting her car with her children on Forest Avenue around 2 p.m. Monday when a white male approached her, allegedly becoming agitated and yelling at her to, “go back to where she came from.”
She reported that the suspect then proceeded to damage her vehicle, snapping her driver’s side mirror off.
According to the police, the victim did not know her attacker, but had seen him walking in the area before.
