PORTLAND, Maine — Officials from the federal Environmental Protection Agency will take comments from the public at the University of Southern Maine about the agency's proposal to cut carbon emissions from power plants.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the university's Wishcamper Center in Portland. EPA New England office head Curt Spaulding is expected to explain the Agency's proposed rules to reduce carbon pollution. EPA officials say the rules are designed to curb power plants' contribution to climate change.
EPA officials say speakers at the event will include Maine Medical Association medical director Lani Graham and Casco Baykeeper Joe Payne.
