AUGUSTA, Maine — If you want to go leaf peeping, you'd better not wait.
Maine has reached its peak color for fall foliage.
Gail Ross with the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry says that most areas of the state are now showing 75 percent to 100 percent color, and with colder temperatures forecast for the weekend, those leaves won't stick around long.
"They are probably going to start dropping after this weekend," she says.
Just one area is lagging behind: Down East, which is showing 50 percent to 70 percent color.
