The Maine CDC reports that there are now 70 confirmed and presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in the state.
On Saturday, the OceanView retirement community in Falmouth released a statement saying that a sixth resident tested positive. The statement said that the resident had not been connected to the other, initial cases at OceanView, “however, per the CDC, due to statewide community spread it is no longer possible to definitively determine the source of exposure.”
OceanView says that of the six residents who have tested presumptive positive for COVID-19, three are being treated at Maine Medical Center and three are recuperating at their homes.
Those who are above age 60 are thought to be at significant risk if infected with the new coronavirus.
