MADISON, Maine (AP) _ A Norridgewock man who came to the attention of police because of a realistic-looking tattoo of a gun on his belly has been arrested for having the real thing tucked into his waistband.
The Morning Sentinel reports that 41-year-old Michael Smith was arrested Friday after he allegedly showed up at a deputy's home with drugs in his backpack and with a real gun in his waistband.
He was charged with stealing prescription narcotics from his girlfriend and released from the Somerset County Jail on $1,000 cash bail. It's not known if he has a lawyer.
An affidavit indicates Smith told the officer he'd had a fight with his girlfriend and wanted to hurt himself. Police took the gun, along with the drugs and a knife in his backpack.
