ORONO, Maine - A University of Maine professor missing for more than 24 hours -- overdue from a hunting trip -- has been found alive in the woods around Alton in Penobscot County. Robert Vadas was located after a canine unit found his hat this afternoon. A subsequent grid search led to Vadas who was suffering from the cold and could not get up according to Lt. Dan Scott of the Maine Wardens Service.
Some 60 people turned out to searched for Vadas, along with canine and aerial units. The 79 year old Vadas was taken to a local hospital for treatment, following his ordeal.
