BANGOR, Maine- Police in Bangor are investigating a child fatality, which they say occurred inside a home, and appears to have been caused by an animal.
On Saturday morning, emergency responders were called to a Bangor residence to attend an injured infant. According to Det. Sergeant Brent Beaulieu, the child was apparently injured by a family pet. He did not specify what kind of pet.
The infant was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where the child succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead.
According to Beaulieu, no further information is available at this time, and the matter will be investigated by the Bangor Criminal Investigation Division.
