Students Taking Marathon Walk To College

A group of New Hampshire college students is walking 130 miles from Maine to their campus in the state to raise money for charity.

A spokesman for Saint Anselm College says 46 students are starting their trek Saturday in central Maine in what is called ``The Road For Hope'' and will reach New Hampshire over five days. They will pass through Gray, Standish, Waterboro and Sanford in Maine before going through Rochester, Northwood, and Candia and onto their campus in Manchester.

They have already raised more than $24,000 for nine New England charities from the event which is in its 19th year.

The long walk was started by Seamus Griesbach, a Maine native and Saint Anselm College alumnus. Griesbach is now a priest in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.
