1 Killed, 1 Injured In Shooting At Maine Homeless Shelter
One man is dead and another injured following a shooting at the Tedford Housing family shelter in Brunswick. Executive Director Craig Phillips says two male visitors got into an argument while visiting a guest. One of the men brought a gun that was fired during the altercation.
"It certainly was a very tragic event for everyone involved, and we certainly appreciate the outpouring of support that's come from the community at large," Phillips says.
Many Maine shelters have strict no weapons policies. Phillips says administrators might re-evaluate the Tedford program's security policies in the future, but have no immediate plans to do so.
Administrators are currently working to provide mental health services to members of the community affected by the shooting.
