CAMDEN, Maine - Two Maine men have received presidential pardons for their crimes.
President Barack Obama on Monday shortened the sentences of more than 150 individuals and pardoned 78 others.
The Portland Press Herald reports that Francis O'Hara, Sr., of Camden, and Robert Baines, of South Thomaston, were among them.
The 84-year-old O'Hara pleaded guilty in 1990 to bid rigging related to selling frozen seafood to the Defense Department for several years. He was sentenced to six months in prison, fined $200,000 and ordered to repay $950,000.
The 60-year-old Baines was pardoned for a 1986 conviction of conspiracy to possess and possession with intent to distribute over 1,000 pounds of marijuana. Baines was sentenced to six years in federal prison.
