Maine Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins has formally announced her intention to seek re-election in 2020 for a fifth term.In a press release this morning, Collins' campaign touted her history of bipartisan lawmaking and "Maine work ethic."
The announcement sets up what's expected to be the most expensive political race in state history. Collins is seen by Democrats as vulnerable, in part because of her vote for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the GOP tax cut.
Collins has yet to take a position on the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
