With temperatures expected to hit the 90s this weekend, the Maine Center for Disease Control is reminding the public to watch for signs of heat illness this weekend, especially among adults age 65 and older, the population that is hospitalized most for heat-related illnesses.
CDC officials are urging families and neighbors to visit older adults at least twice daily and to watch for signs of heat stroke or exhaustion. Those signs include headaches, lightheadedness, rapid heartbeat and breathing and nausea.
