Maine’s Secretary of State will reopen the Department of Motor Vehicles offices for in-person service on June 1, by appointment.
All DMV branches, except the one in Springvale, will be open to process transactions by phone as well. In-person clients will be required to wear a face mask and confirm they haven’t been exposed to the new coronavirus.
DMV locations will not be able to process REAL ID applications, make nonessential changes or collect excise tax at that time. Motor vehicle exams will also resume upon reopening.
